Join Me for a Fun Animal Oil Painting Workshop – August 23–24 in Wadena, SK
I’m excited to invite you to my upcoming Animal Painting in Oils workshop, happening August 23rd and 24th at the Weneeda Park Lodge in Wadena, Saskatchewan.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist, you're very welcome! I’ve designed this workshop to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience for all skill levels—even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before.
Over two days, you’ll complete a 9” x 12” oil portrait of your choice: a horse, dog, or calf. I’ll guide you step-by-step through the process. You can choose from several reference photos I’ll provide, or, if you'd like to paint your own animal, just email me a clear, well-lit headshot photo (with distinct light and shadow) for approval by August 11: adelinehalvorson@gmail.com. If I don’t hear from you by then, I’ll choose a reference photo for you.
Workshop Details:
· Location: Weneeda Park Lodge, Wadena SK
· Dates: Saturday & Sunday, August 23–24
· Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM, break for lunch, then 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
· Fee: $120 (includes all painting materials, except for a few common household items)
Having spent time at the lodge visiting my parents, I know it’s a lovely, well-lit space to work in. I think you'll enjoy the setting just as much as the painting!
Meals & Accommodations:
· A hot lunch will be available through the lodge for $15 per day, payable directly to the kitchen. Please let me know ahead of time if you’d like to have lunch so they can prepare accordingly. (Coffee will also be available—feel free to leave a coin or two in the piggy bank.)
· Accommodations in Wadena are limited, but there are two local B&Bs. Nearby communities such as Kuroki, Kelvington, and Wynyard (all within 40 km) also have hotels or B&B options.
We may have some of the lodge’s residents joining us or stopping by to watch—please keep in mind we’ll be adjusting my usual workshop hours slightly to fit the lodge’s meal schedule. It’s their home, and we’re grateful to share the space with them!
I look forward to a relaxed, rewarding weekend of creativity, connection, and learning. If you have any questions, email me at adelinehalvorson@gmail.com. To register, do so below:
